General Overview
As you might have read on Erik's Day 19 of her Every Day post, we went out to Dawson to film Ling's small sketch and walked around to find food since we were both very hungry at 3PM while Sandy went back home because she already ate.
We first passed by Le Smoking BBQ and went like "Oh we need to come here one day" because we wanted sushi at that time but the AYCE sushi places were going to close in 4-5 minutes when we got there, so we came back and got to this awesome place, hihi. #Whatisdiet?
Smoking BBQ was a food truck thing before. And just recently opened up a permanent place on Ste-Catherine. Not sure when they opened, but probably around the start of Winter period because Ling doesn't walk a lot on Ste-Catherine when there's lots of snow and very cold, hihi.
So very first impression is "Wow this is a very small and cozy place", yo the whole place looks western-ish and gave out a BBQ feel. Don't know how to describe that, but like smell good BBQ and that's the feeling haha. The cashier was very nice. We spoke in French hihi~ And the waiter was quite nice too. Actually, everyone's nice. The world's nice!!
Oh, as we were getting ready to leave, this other customer lady came to us and asked us how was our food so that she can try is next time too! See! Everyone's nice here!! It's the BBQ = Best Boo Quality!
Anyway, that is it for the restaurant's atmosphere! Now, the food!!
Mac 'N Cheese Waffle
Ling's verdict
Well well, The food! The bottom is a lot more burnt than expected. Maybe because I'm picky with my food with cheese, but this wasn't extraordinary. It was just okay. And very dry. Which is why I got a drink... A lemonade to be exact.. Welps. I guess lemons and I aren't good friends. Lemons are obviously sour which is not my forte. HaNeul should've been there with us haha! But still quite tasty. Like take big mouthful at the time and you'll actually find it not too sour but quite tasty and sweet.
Anyway, I still liked the waffle quite well and would recommend to anyone who isn't going on a diet (duh) and likes mild cheese! Dry and hard, but satisfies cheesy cravings. Yum!
Pulled Pork Poutine
Erika's verdict
Okay. So my diet was supposed to start (but guess not) but this wrecked my plan AHAHAHHA. The coleslaw was very good, just the right amount of dressing. The poutine itself was actually..... not hot? like. It was warm but not hot enough to melt the cheese so #sadnis. The pulled pork was really good, except for the fact that the BBQ sauce was too sweet to my liking :/ but overall it was really tasty! I also got myself a root beer which was great as well~! Let's just say that I overestimated myself and I wasn't able to finish it all LOL.
And like always, we're ending the post with the menu~

Random ending post. Pigeons this year are really fat. These ones here are okay, but they were just posing for us so yeah. But Pigeons are really big big it's amazing. Eat well.
